Making Books Sing is a NYC-based theater company and arts-in-education non-profit that promotes children's literacy and social development to family and school audiences.
Making Books Sing's "If You Really Love Polar Bears" tells the story of Patchy, a little boy who loves polar bears and learns about the important role he can play saving the earth. The 30-minute performance incorporates music, puppetry, and physical comedy to educate children about climate change and its impact on animal habitats. ConEdison sponsored a five-borough tour in winter 2011 to family audiences at various cultural institutions across New York City. "If You Really Love Polar Bears" was created in association with the Wildlife Conservation Society and premiered at the Bronx Zoo in spring 2011.
