ONLINE Parent/Teen Book Club Discussion

  • Patchogue-Medford Library
  • 54-60 East Main Street, Patchogue
  • Teen, Adult
  • FREE

In order to promote talking about difficult topics, the library will be hosting a parent and teen book club where they will read This is Where is Ends by Marieke Nijkamp. Books can be picked up from the library starting July 8, 2020. Each parent and teen can receive a copy of the book or the e-book can be checked out online using Libby. This is Where is Ends by Marieke Nijkamp is a fictional book that deals with the very real topic of school shootings. The book takes place over a 52 minute period where a school shooting is taking place. Although this is a difficult topic and the book contains violence, it's a topic that parents and teens should discuss. On August 21 there will be a virtual discussion about the book and talk about ways you think the schools can be made to feel safer for the students and teachers. Please register each parent and teen so the library can have an accurate amount of books.
