Peter B. Lewis Theater at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum

Upper East Side

All Ages

Event description: In what has become an annual holiday tradition, Works & Process at the Guggenheim presents ten live performances of Sergei Prokofiev's charming children's classic, "Peter & the Wolf," in a brand-new production combining the visual and the performing arts.

Renowned fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi will narrate and George Manahan will conduct the Juilliard Ensemble. Artist Will Cotton will bring the production to life with a newly commissioned installation, in which the familiar characters are set within a gingerbread chalet in the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Peter B. Lewis Theater at the Guggenheim.

The audience is invited to view the artwork on stage following the program. The story brings 30 minutes of suspense, including a happy ending, and allows the young and young-at-heart to learn and remember the various instruments in the orchestra.
