Monsters, super heroes, crazy kids, wacky adventures. It's time to spin a yarn and draw some characters. The Queens Historical Society will offer a series of workshops, The Art of Telling YOURStory, in August and September. Led by Gregory Renaud, a local cartoonist, illustrator, and writer who favors children's books and comics, the sessions will teach how to make high-quality graphic novels and strips. Via 10 online classes, participants will learn such techniques as action, dialogue, motion, paneling, and setting. They'll also explore how culture and history can be used to tell a story. The Art of Telling YOURStory is made possible by support from Humanities New York.
