One of the pastries Guyanese / Guyanese-American people love to snack on is pine tart. It is a shortcrust pastry filled with fresh pineapple filling.  Guyana is a Caribbean country that is located at the top tip of South America. It was once a part of three Guianas: French Guiana, Dutch Guyana, and British Guiana. Guyana was called British Guiana when it was colonized and occupied by the English — Dutch Guiana is now called Suriname and French Guiana has kept its name. The food of Guyana is a beautiful mix of the 6 races that are a part of the country: Amerindian (Native American aka American Indian), East Indian, African, Portuguese, European and Chinese. Advanced registration required.
