We’ll read about the construction of the Brooklyn Bridge that now links Brooklyn and Manhattan. To prove the bridge’s integrity, P.T. Barnum, the creator of ‘The Greatest Show on Earth’, marched his circus elephants, all 21 of them, through Manhattan and across the bridge to Brooklyn! Using craft sticks, paper towel rolls, and cups, kids will build a bridge to support 21 elephants! (we’ll substitute rolls of pennies!) This is for grades 2 and up.
