Green Expo: 12pm; performance 2pm.
Theatrics reign as a troupe of eight traveling players present Shakespeare's fable of the spunky, lovesick Helena and her pursuit of the fickle Bertram, a callow young man who prefers war and womanizing to romance and responsibility. Comedy, theatrical surprises, music, adventure, and rapid-fire onstage character changes make this modern twist on Shakespeare a great choice for family fun. The Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival eliminates the heavy language and over-dramatization making it the perfect show for all ages. Before the show there is a fun/informative Green Expo where local businesses and services provide information, demos and samples on greener living, complete with refreshments and entertainment for the whole family. Tickets for the Green Expo and Shakespeare on the Green are free but must be reserved ahead (limit 5 per family, first come first served) by calling the box office at 203-438-5795.
