Sail Through Art History Hudson River Voyages to benefit The Rockland Center for the Arts and the Edward Hopper House Museum & Study Center. Join fellow artists and friends for a 3 hour sunset sail on wide decked authentic working historic sailboats, the Clearwater and the Pioneer. Each ship leaving from a different port. Get a different view of the river and make art on-board a sailboat! Each cruise will feature a different expert speaking on topics such as on the Hudson River School paintings, the bridges, Edward Hopper's love for boats and the ecology of the Hudson River. Participate in raising the sails and learn from the crew what it is like to live onboard. Anyone ages 14 and older can participate. Sailing is rain or shine, barring thunderstorms. The Pioneer, a restored 1885 iron-sided schooner, owned by South Street Seaport Museum, leaves from Haverstraw for two sails for a sunset trip to Croton Bay north of Hook Mountain. The crew will trawl for Hudson River creatures so passengers can handle them and study them up close. (Rain or Shine)
