Work together to survive in the great outdoors! Head to the preserve and explore the essentials to roughing it in the wild: shelter building and making a fire! First, meet in the museum for a quick crash course. Learn the many types of survival shelters and the dos-and-don'ts of building them, then explore what you'll need for an effective fire and how to choose the right one for your purposes. With some new information under your belt, venture out to the preserve to put your new skills to the test! Will your family build a strong shelter using only what they find there? Can you work together to build a fire that burns long enough to toast a marshmallow? Find out during this Sunday morning workshop! *Please dress appropriately for the outdoors
