Event description: After twelve years on a deserted island, a deposed Duke is now a mighty sorcerer. He raises a storm at sea, bringing within his grasp the enemies who robbed him of his dukedom. Half romance, half political thriller, Shakespeare's final masterpiece has it all: a shipwreck, conspiracy, magic, monsters and love at first sight.

This year also features a new children's program called Kids and The Classics which will be offered 30 minutes before each show. The program consists of fun theatre games and an introduction to the play.

About Socrates Sculpture Park

Founded in 1986, Socrates Sculpture Park is the only site in the New York Metropolitan area specifically dedicated to providing artists with opportunities to create and exhibit large-scale sculpture and multi-media installations in a unique outdoor environment that encourages strong interaction between artists, artworks and the public. The park’s existence is based on the belief that reclamation, revitalization and creative expression are essential to the survival, humanity and improvement of our urban environment.
