Description: The Hudson Valley Writers Workshop (HVWW) is an organization of writers and aspiring writers founded in 1980. They offer a safe, supportive environment in which members can share their works in progress (fiction or non-fiction, prose or poetry) and participate in creative writing exercises designed to help sharpen creative and communication skills.

Members of HVWW will be at the library to talk about the craft of writing, the purpose of their organization, and to read from their works in progress. There will be a "warm-up" writing exercise with the audience (optional), and a Q&A period. Light refreshments will be served. Open to the public and to all ages.

Whether you are interested in the craft of writing, would like to learn more about HVWW, or would just like to listen to readings from interesting local writers, the morning promises to be fun. This event is free but registration is required. Please call the library at 914 232-5717 or register online at somerslibrary.org. Additional information and copies of membership forms for HVWW is available at the Somers library.
