Harvest Fest is a daylong celebration and fundraiser for Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture. Festivities for the whole family include live music, hayrides, farm Olympics, food-crafting, farming demonstrations and square dancing! The 10th annual festival is on Saturday, October 5, 2013 from 10am-3pm at Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture, just 45 minutes north of Manhattan.
Highlights of Harvest Fest 2013 will include: - Live music from more than five different bands - Food crafting stations for festival-goers to try their hands at apple pressing, grain grinding and bread baking, butter making, veggie harvesting, quick pickling, and pig roasting, all led by farmers, chefs, and special guests - A farmers' market featuring local purveyors and delicious seasonal fare - Hayrides around the property. - Farm Demonstrations (sheep moving, egg collecting, turkey feeding) in the fields and pastures - An opportunity to show off your farmer skills at the Farm Olympics - Square Dancing in the courtyard with a caller and a live band
A wide selection of seasonal food and beverages, including Stone Barns Center's famous Berkshire pig roast, will be available for cash purchase all day at the farmers' market. This year's market vendors include Blue Hill at Stone Barns, Balthazar Bakery, bobbysue's nuts, Carpe Donut, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Green and Tonic, Luke's Lobster, Mast Brothers Chocolate, Magpies NYC hand pies, Mile End Deli, Melt Ice Cream Sandwiches, Murray's Cheese, Rick's Picks, Rickshaw Dumpling, Roberta's, Stumptown Coffee, Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, and Whole Foods Market.
