Streams, Tunnels, Dams… Oh My! Getting Water to NYC

This event has already taken place. Click here for the latest events.

New York City could not have grown into a great metropolis without its historic and efficient water-supply system. Starting at the watersheds in upstate New York, the group will follow the flow through streams, tunnels, dams, and reservoirs to learn how these gravity systems deliver clean and safe drinking water to the city. Then, inspired by the water supply system, the group will play Water Works, a fun card game where the objective is to be the first to build a completely leak-free pipeline. Ages 6 and older. This is an in-person program that meets at the Skyscraper Museum, 39 Battery Pl. Masks are required for indoor programs. You must reserve a place for your child/family by clicking the RSVP button above. This will forward you to Eventbrite for sign-up. After registering, you will receive emails to confirm your attendance through a Google Form. If you do not confirm attendance by the Friday morning before the program, your places will be canceled. Every child should be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Reservation priority is given to The Skyscraper Museum members. Summer programs are supported by a Community Partnership with the Battery Park City Authority. If you have questions, email [email protected] or call our office 212-945-6324.
