Event description:

In honor of Black History month, celebrate America’s first racially integrated industry. See a harpoon designed by blacksmith Lewis Temple, a freed slave. Learn about what life was like on a whaleship for people of color. Carve a scrimshaw box as a special keepsake. Supported in part by the National Maritime Heritage Fund.
