Theater for the New City, Tompkins Square Park, Central Park, and Jackie Robinson Park
Lower East Side, East Village, Central Park, and Harlem
Every year the Theater for the New City presents a new show, suitable for all ages, that they then tour around parks and playgrounds during the summer. This year's show is a topical piece about community activism. Mixing satire with slapstick, with a score that ranges from Bossa Nova, Hip Hop and Gilbert and Sullivan.
A teacher, subway conductor and neighborhood school girl lead community activists in the fight against the monster of apple pie fascism and threats of planetary death from the pumpkin head of state.
