Pre-school & younger, Young elementary
Lisa Suriano, founder and creator of the Veggiecation Program (veggiecation.com), and Whole Foods Market's West Orange, New Jersey location will get kids excited to eat their vegetables with a kids cooking class on February 28.
Class will teach participants how to prepare a selection of kid-friendly, healthy veggie dishes. As practiced in participating classrooms throughout the country, kids will be invited to help prepare Veggiecation Program’s recipes, sample Veggiecation Program’s culinary creations, experience vegetables in their raw form and cast a vote on how they liked the recipes in the Veggiecation Ballot Boxes. Kids will take home complimentary Veggiecation character coloring pages, word games, mazes and stickers. Parents will receive a copy of Veggiecation Program's recipes created that day.
A curriculum based nutrition education concept, Veggiecation Program’s success with kids lies in the engaging activities that empower children with their food choices while demonstrating that eating vegetables is fun and delicious. From New York to California, Veggiecation Program is in place in classrooms throughout the country. Veggiecation Program also offers programs for individual purchase for use at home and after school activities.
Class is free and open to the public. On the menu: Black Eyed Pea Spread and Sweet Carrot Salad. Due to limited class size, pre-registration is required (deadline February 27).
