9am to 11:30am | Five Weekly Themed Sessions July 8 - August 9
Early childhood art specialists will guide your child through an exciting hands-on art experience. Children will engage in age appropriate art activities and be inspired by an artist and theme of the week. Explore drawing, painting, sculpture, craft and more, while developing artistic skills. All young artists will develop the confidence they need to practice and create art. We will study an artist of the week, as well as find inspiration through the weekly theme. Mature artists will continue to develop and advance their skills in our 2-week program, offering opportunity to blossom into creative and thought provoking artists. Teachers will help guide Mature Artists toward expressing their innate creativity, while developing drawing and painting skills, as well as sculpture, printmaking, mixed media, and more. We will study an artist of the week and find inspiration through our weekly theme. Mature Artists will also have the unique chance to work with a guest artist and learn new techniques and skills, as well as attend a “Plein Air” painting field trip. This is the preparatory program for the Art League’s pre-college portfolio program. Bi-weekly art show to celebrate your child’s artistic accomplishments. Partnering to bring you what we do best! Kids Age 5-9 have the option of participating in regularly scheduled Summer Art Adventure Program (SAA) or joining SAA in the mornings and spending afternoons at Park Shore Country Day Camp of Dix Hills.

The Art League is offering two 3-week sessions for high school students to fully immerse themselves in the creative process and build their portfolios for college. Experience professional studio practices as you delve into observational and figure drawing, painting, mixed media projects, and more! In addition to a COMPREHENSIVE STUDIO EXPERIENCE, the Pre-College Portfolio Development program features a schedule of special LECTURES, LESSONS, and DEMONSTRATIONS by professionals in the fields of art and design who will share studio techniques and strategies for success!
Both sessions take place on-site at the Art League. Students may register for either one or both sessions. Explore a variety of mediums! Meet new friends and make better art!
Participating students will have the opportunity to showcase their work as part of an exhibition in our Jeanie Tengelsen Gallery, Aug. 10- 19, 2018.

My Companion & Me! Art with a partner for Children & Young Adults
This series provides each participant and his/ her special loved one a precious opportunity to bond together while creating something beautiful. Using a multitude of mediums, each young person goes home with a completed craft project each session.
This program is led by Toni Neuschaefer, who for the past fifteen years has directed the Town of Huntington’s multi-faceted Saturday Recreational Program for Children with Special Needs.
Meets Sundays, March 3 and June 9, 2019 from 1pm-3pm.
Summer and fall dates TBD. Register for as many workshops as you like. $35 per workshop, register for one or all workshops.
