The Center for Architecture promotes public understanding and appreciation of architecture and design through educational programs for K-12 students and teachers, families, and the general public. Our programs take place at the Center for Architecture in Greenwich Village and in schools and community sites throughout metropolitan New York.
Hands-on design workshops at the Center for Architecture teach youth and families about the built environment through fun art and design activities. Programs range from two-hour weekend workshops to week-long summer design studios. Need-based scholarships are available for most programs.
Monthly Saturday workshops for children ages 5-13 and their adult companions.
Three-day school vacation programs for youth in grades 3-12.
Weekly after-school program for 3rd - 5th graders, discovering architecture and design through neighborhood exploration, drawing, and hands-on building activities.
Week-long design studios for students in grades 3-12.
Our award-winning educational programs for students and teachers enrich the K-12 curriculum content and standards and engage students in active learning and collaboration.
Customized in-school residencies taught by our experienced design educators in collaboration with classroom teachers.
