Temper tantrums are a part of life for young children. However, some children exhibit severe temper tantrums that last longer than a few minutes and involve verbal or physical aggression. This causes stress for parents who begin to feel as if they need to “walk on eggshells” to avoid these outbursts. The NYU Child Study Center is conducting a research study of young children (ages 5-9) with extreme temper outbursts and their families. Participants receive a comprehensive evaluation and four sessions of behavioral counseling at no cost. Compensation is provided.
