Continuous support, carefully individualized care and coaching through the process is our mission so we can work together to find the right therapeutic placement for your child or young adult struggling with emotional dysregulation, psychiatric disorders, ADHD, learning disabilities, substance abuse or self-harm.
When considering a program and if needed, traveling to visit/tour therapeutic and/or Special Education schools and programs is available in an effort to ease the stress through the process. As a parent of a child in a therapeutic program, I understand the importance of alleviating and assisting throughout the process to lend a hand for a peaceful transition.
In addition, advocacy, CSE, IEP and 504 assistance is also provided for parents seeking support through their District as well as collaborating with teachers to implement classroom management strategies and adequate lesson planning differentiation to support children with special needs.
Lisa Vella has worked for over 25 years in the Educational Field with the NYC Public School System as a former Secondary School teacher as well as a Middle School Dean of Students in Jackson Heights, Queens. She also held a District 75 NYC Regional Position as a Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports Coach with additional training in Life Space Crisis Intervention and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention.
In addition, Lisa has worked with the NYC Committee on Special Education on observations, evaluations and assessments to determine IEP eligibility and services, Behavior Intervention Plans and Functional Behavior Assessments to meet appropriate behavioral needs of students with challenges. Lisa holds a Professional Degree in Administration and Supervision of Schools: Educational Leadership and Administration.
