Each film brings the Winston Prep campuses to life, and offers you an understanding of the essence of Winston Prep through the voices of our faculty, school leaders, parents, and students. Here you will learn more about our renowned Focus program, understand the process of program design, see arts and athletics in action, visit a Winston graduation, and see how lives of students and families are profoundly changed by our culture and community.
Winston Preparatory Mission
Our mission is to facilitate the independence of individuals with learning difficulties through assessment driven individualized education, research and outreach. Our unique educational program for middle and upper school students with learning designed to develop essential skills and challenge his or her strengths. Winston`s curriculum focuses on skill-based learning with an underlying emphasis on social-emotional growth. Small classes of 8-12 students help to create a comfortable learning environment and facilitate the individualization of course work.
What We Do
Our highly successful "Focus Program," in which each student receives a daily period of one-to-one instruction concentrating on his or her greatest area of need, is designed to serve as the diagnostic, instructional and mentoring centerpiece of their experience.
Art, drama, gym and a variety of enrichment choices are offered within the school day and during the afterschool program. Interscholastic athletic programs are also available after school. At the high school level, students with appropriate levels of skill mastery may participate in college courses. Ninety percent of graduates in the last five years have been accepted to college.
