Aesop Bops is a feast of funky, physical storytelling featuring David Gonzalez and the Yak Yak Band. Gonzalez (pictured) will perform silly versions of several of Aesop’s classic stories, including The Lion and the Mouse, The Fisherman and His Wife, and The Turtle’s Shell, accompanied by the rockin’ Yak Yaks. The result is a fast-paced and funny show that’s full of audience participation.
Strawberry Shortcake with Special Guest the Doodlebops

You could say girls just want to have fun as Strawberry Shortcake with Special Guest the Doodlebops hit the stage. The moving, grooving Doodlebops trio introduce Strawberry Shortcake and her best friends Orange Blossom, Lemon Meringue, Blueberry Muffin, Raspberry Torte, Plum Pudding, and Cherry Jam to the audience. From there, this live theatrical production full of “get up and dance” music proves that little girls can do “berry” big things.

Elephants and tigers and horses…hooray! The circus returns this month. Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Presents Built to Amaze!, a show full of nonstop hijinks and hilarity. Prepare to be amazed by 95 exotic and domestic animals and more than 100 of the world’s top performers, including death-defying aerialists, colorful clowns, a basketball-playing unicycle troupe, and a crazy cowboy of a ringmaster.

Leave reality behind and watch a world of magic unfold when Cirque du Soleil presents Totem under the blue and yellow big top at Citi Field. The word “totem” is a reference to the order of the species. Inspired by many origin myths, Totem illustrates, through a visual and acrobatic language, the evolutionary progress of species. Witness the evolution of mankind as characters evolve on stage from primitive amphibians to winged creatures.
Silent Film Screening: Safety Last!

If your children have never seen a silent film before, take them to watch a little history on the silver screen when the Cinema Art Centre’s Anything But Silent film series presents Safety Last! The 1923 film (70 minutes; not rated) features one of the most famous images from the silent film era: Harold Lloyd clutching the hands of a large clock as he dangles outside a skyscraper. As an added treat, MoMA’s Ben Model accompanies the movie on the organ.
Spring Break: Jr. Marine Biologist Camp

Kids don’t need to take a break from learning just because school is out. Bring them to Jr. Marine Biologist Camp, where students ages 5-8 will conduct experiments to explore habitats and marine ecosystems while students ages 9-10 act as “crew leaders” and take on leadership roles in all activities.
Treehouse Shakers Presents Hatched

Have you ever seen a chick break out of its shell? You will as Treehouse Shakers Presents Hatched, an interactive performance that allows children to touch, “feed,” and dance with several handcrafted animal puppets. There are chicks, calves, kittens, lambs, and many other babies that will pique the imagination of the youngest visitors.
