Camp Seton, a year-round Boy Scout programs, offers a day camp for boys (scouting experience not necessary) in Greenwich. The Fairfield County outdoor-based day camp recently added an amphitheater.

Campers will participate in a weekly campfire on Fridays at Camp Seton’s new amphitheater.

While Camp Seton offers year-round programming to the Boy Scouts, every summer it offers day camp for boys who have completed first through eighth grade and wish to participate in outdoor adventure activities, as well as a counselor-in-training program for 15-year-olds. No scouting experience or membership is required for the summer camp, says Heather Lowthert, camp director. Camp Seton recently installed a new outdoor amphitheater where camp-wide events are hosted.

Camp Seton is located on 249 acres in Greenwich and offers activities such as boating, canoeing, archery, and court and field sports, as well as a natural exploration center and river creek exploration. “We have facilities all around the lake. There are 5 miles of hiking trails and all kinds of outdoor activities,” Lowthert says, adding that kids are totally unplugged once they are at camp.

The camp also holds a weekly campfire on Friday afternoons, which will take place at the amphitheater, Lowthert says. Parents and siblings are welcome to attend the weekly campfire, as the amphitheater holds 400 people. Campers have the opportunity to sing songs and perform in skits. Weekly awards are also handed out at the campfire.

Camp Seton runs for seven weeks starting June 27. Campers can attend for all seven weeks, or any combination of time they wish. Camp is held Monday-Thursday from 9am-4pm and Friday from 9am-3pm. Early drop-off and late pick-up are available, Lowthert says.
