Children will plant vegetables at OrganiKids, which they will take home to watch grow and be able to eat the fruits of their labor.

A new summer program at OrganiKids that focuses on organic living is now offered to children ages 2 to 6. OrganiKids will offer three summer program options this year: Parents can enroll their children in a 1-week, 6-week, or 8-week session. The summer program begins in July and is held 9am-12pm, Monday through Friday.

OrganiKids is an organically infused program that includes activities to help grow active minds and bodies. “Our goal is to teach children to bring the organic lifestyle into the community,” co-owner and director Natalie Sullo says.

The summer program will be held at Mini Monet’s art studio in Sayville. Activities include arts and crafts, creating organic paint, mud kitchens, children’s yoga, nature hikes, musical guests, indoor terrariums, gardening, and picnics, and all-organic snacks will be provided. Registration is currently open for the summer program.

OrganiKids will also open its separate day care and preschool program in a new facility located in Oakdale for infants to 5-year-olds. OrganiKids will provide an educated staff, organic menu inspired by kids’ favorite meals, and more holistic lesson plans at the new location, which is scheduled to open in January 2015.
