Jersey City Sandy Recovery is a city-wide organization comprised of neighbors and volunteers who identify post-Sandy needs and connects them to the appropriate resources. By forming face-to-face personal connections, through scouting and relationships with neighborhood organizations, Jersey City Sandy Recovery works to match cases, volunteers, and resources to provide supplies as well as financial and agency assistance.

“We are proud to partner with Jersey City Sandy Recovery to benefit local Hurricane Sandy relief efforts,” said Karen-Davis Farage, president and co-owner, Pole Position Raceway.

“Jersey City and its surrounding communities have been very supportive of us since we have been open, so nothing would make us happier than to help our neighbors get back on their feet. Jersey City Sandy Recovery has done amazing work in such a short period of time and we’re excited to help support their efforts.”

Like many businesses, Pole Position Raceway suffered the loss of business for 12 days as its facility was closed due to power outages and flooding in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. As part of its ongoing giveback charter, CAReS (Cancer, Alzheimer’s, Recover and thoSe in need), Pole Position Raceway prides itself on providing aid to charities and organizations in need through the area. This fundraiser with Jersey City Sandy Recovery is a perfect fit and encourages support of others by racing at its Jersey City facility throughout the month of January.

“We’re excited to be working with community-minded people like the folks at Pole Position Raceway. Through their generosity, racers get to have a lot of fun and help the many people in Jersey City who are still recovering from Sandy,” said Tiby Kantrowitz, co-founder of Jersey City Sandy Recovery.

As the relief effort will continue long into 2013 and beyond, those interested in donating to Jersey City Sandy Recovery can do so online by visiting jcnjrecovery.org/donate.
