boy doing homeworkAmidst the ongoing debate about the pros and cons of the Common Core State Standards, many believe that the Common Core has provided a national platform for innovation. “For the first time, content developers can invest for a national market,” writes Tom Vander Ark, author of Getting Smart: How Digital Learning is Changing the World, on GettingSmart.com. “The Core has triggered a wave of investment in engaging, personalized learning content and tools.” (Technology is mentioned in 78 of the standards, after all.)
